on cloud9

I can't believe I'm actually writing this, but I got a co-op offer from Microsoft for SWE :)

Freshman year me would have never believed this lmao. I was stressing so bad and thought I was so behind when in reality I was doing really well for myself. Even though I'm probably not the smartest person, I think my consistency and work ethic is what got me this far.

I think I'll be one of the few second-years at Microsoft, since the people who got in are part of a Seattle program and they were basically guaranteed to get it because they're in that program. They are all third years. I heard from a friend that I'm the only person he knows who's outside of the Seattle program who got in, so I'm just a little worried that I'll be an outcast when I get there. Since I'm going to be in the Seattle area for 6.5 months, I really want to make sure that my social life exists, even if it's just one friend. I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity and am still in shock that I got the offer. Sometimes I doubt myself and feel that I don't deserve this since there were definitely smarter people than me who applied and didn't get it, but yeah I'm not sure what to think. I don't know if it's luck, hard work, or intelligence. I think luck was definitely a factor because one of my interviewers is part of a team at Microsoft that's doing something similar to what I'm doing at Siemens - enterprise stuff I believe. I told her that I recognized some terms like PO (purchase order), PR (purchase request), etc and she seemed really interested after I said that. I have a really strong feeling that she'll be my manager (Miki Wang) :)

Life is just really good right now. I made some new friends this semester and have pretty strong bonds with my friends from freshman year. I go to Davenport B pretty often since a lot of my friends are dorming there together. I'm currently rooming with Nancy (in Burstein 219), and I've gotten a lot closer with her. I'm so glad I roomed with her because I feel like I definitely would not see her as often and gotten this close if I didn't room with her. I'm going to miss my friends a lot when I leave for Seattle. I feel like I've built a community I can call home here, and I'm feeling the same dread that I felt when I was moving to Boston for the first time before freshman year. It's a weird feeling, but I realize that I feel this way mainly because of the people that I've grown so close to and care so much about.

I know I'll be back, but it's going to be probably 10 months until I see them again. And a lot of my friends will probably be fall cycle, so they might not even be in Boston when I come back.

I'm really proud of how far I've come in almost every aspect of my life. High school me would have never believed that I had achieved this much. I made a complete 180 in my life. From almost no friends to having several friend groups and communities where I am comfortable being myself. A lot of my friends look up to me and I'm really glad that I can be that person they can ask for guidance or help. Since my last post, I've also been pretty consistent with the gym and don't look as much of a twig anymore.

To whoever's writing my story, thank you.

3/12/25

i have a lot on my mind rn. ik there's days where you're up and down, but I don't understand why down days carry a weight that is so much heavier than good days.

so for fundies (cs 2510), I have a partner that I work on for assignments. she's my friend and she's fun to hang around with. she's just a really bad work partner, though. I'm so frustrated because I've been making all the efforts to meet with her at least more than a day before the hw deadline, not just a couple of hours before it's due. this means that I do most of the hw in case we don't submit on time. so for one of our homework's, we got a 0 on it because I accidentally used the static keyword for one of the methods in the utils class. i worked so hard on this fucking assignment just for it to get discarded because of ONE keyword. i don't fucking understand the grading system and the logic behind it. you're going to penalize me for using a keyword that is COMMON PRACTICE in the REAL WORLD??? gtfo of here. idek why I'm so frustrated. i knew that spending more time out of class to work on stuff that will actually get me a fucking job will pay off in the long run, and so far it's definitely paid off. i have a summer internship lined up and I don't think that would have been possible if I spent as much time in the books as I did last semester. i had a 4.0 gpa last semester, but at what cost? i got rejected from almost every single internship I applied to.

this semester, I've made sure to work on developing my skills and resume and when the motherfuckers who make fun of ur gpa don't have a job they'll see why. gpa isn't everything

I just realized this might be an insane level of copium oh my god I'm so mad

anyways I wanna talk more about my summer internship at LSQ - I'm so glad it's an actual company and not some small ass startup not willing to pay me anything. the CTO's name is Shawn Wen and he's worked at Microsoft and at amazon alexa so that's actually really cool. hoping to learn a lot. I'm the youngest one on the team lol

I applied on handshake and shawn said he chose 10 ppl to interview (I think he was only picking from northeastern). i was the last person he picked, and then he chose 3-4 more people to interview. he then chose 2 ppl. one of them was me and another was a grad student lmfao

ok before was last night I'm writing again
idk if I'm suffering from success rn bc I'm getting so many interviews. i just got one from cyberark which has like 250k+ followers on LinkedIn. i doubt ill get the role but if I do maybe I just do that one instead of LSQ? idk

anyways I have to do AI BootCamp hw now

ttyl future me!

College :)

It's been almost a year since my last blog, which is kinda insane. I never knew that this was where'd I be and what I'd be doing a year ago.

From my last blog, I thought I was going to be a CS + Math major and that I thought I would switch out if I thought that CS wasn't useful. Well, I predicted that right LMAOOO

I'm just a pure CS major now with a concentration in AI and a minor in math. I'm planning to get my PlusOne in AI, which I can still graduate in 4 years with.

For what I'm involved in, I'm a software engineer at SGA, software developer at NER, and research member for the AI Perception Lab for AINU.

I also just won FinHacks 2025 for best diversity hack and best web/app! Super proud of what I've accomplished so far.

I really wish I accepted Ameresco's internship offer but whatever, it's probably better for my work ethic to keep applying.

Anyways, college has been really good to me so far. I made some really great friends (shoutout Emma, Nancy, Angelina, Sam, Kate, Biak, Stamili)! COLLEGE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIGH SCHOOL

I just wanna write some random thoughts down

The dining hall food is mid, I wake up early just to eat breakfast in the dining hall when there's barely anyone there, I have at least 4 Kraft mac and cheese / dumplings from outtakes every week, I hate racket and I think java is actually pretty nice, my prof for linear is so confusing, my stats prof goes too fast, my cyber prof is a d1 yapper, my fundies prof is pretty ok, I made deans list for last semester

I hope I get an internship this summer. I will get an internship this summer.

Thanks for reading, future me

See ya next time (prob in a couple months who knows)

got into college!!

everything worked out in the end! i got accepted into Northeastern University EDII.. i still can't believe it :'). i will most likely be studying computer science and math (combined major) but I'll likely switch to just cs if i feel like the math part is not useful. I've read that the cs classes that you don't take during the combined major aren't useful anyway and the math classes you do take with the combined major are useful especially for AI/ML, and it will also make me stand out when applying for positions. i think it will also put me at an advantage if i decide to go to into data science so it does make me a more versatile applicant if i do want to go outside of software engineering.

I'm just so relieved that i know where I'm going for college now; i really didn't think i would get into any good university after getting rejected from Cornell, Georgia Tech, and deferred from USC. i did get into UB honors though lol with like a 50% scholarship but that doesn't count

I'm so excited for the fall. i know i will be successful in the future and i know that the co-op program is goated lets goooo

i got accepted like 2 days ago on valentines day so yeah that was the best valentines day gift ever who needs love

see you next time future me!!! i don't wanna turn 18

2enior 4ear

ok so i didn't disappear for 6 months let's goooo

yeah senior year has been rough so far. i had to drop ap lang because i did not understand anything in that class (well technically not everything but most of it), like how are you supposed to use aristotle's canons to analyze a eulogy of president reagan's passing? I'm starting to get major imposter syndrome too, ig this is what being a woman in stem feels like. i was literally one of the worst scorers on my first ap physics c quiz. i would have been more upset if i was the lowest scorer though so honestly I'm ok. I'll just do better on the next one since I barely studied for this one. and I'm not trying to give myself excuses for doing poorly either, i was genuinely really busy with ap lang (so happy I dropped it) and other classes that i just couldn't study. i promise i will do really well on the next one which is on dynamics. also I'm so happy i dropped ap lang because everyone there is such a tryhard and teacher's pets they're just so annoying. I'm with one of my friends now in cp so yayyyy

since my last post in july, i've learned so much regarding cs and programming knowledge. i can build a website on my own, obviously i don't memorize what to type for a function, style, or HTML structure, but i basically understand everything so i just need to use references to help me build it. i think I'm pretty on track with college applications too. i just need to refine my common app essay. the uc piq's are pretty straightforward; i've started brainstorming for all of them and i have a gist of what I'm gonna write about for each one. for my supplemental, it should take me a couple of hours for each school to research so i think those will be fine too. I'm just gonna write some manifestations here: everything is going to be alright, i will get into a good university, everything is going to work out in the end.

oh yeah and tomorrow i have 3 interviews. on the same day. you know what that's just great. i literally had my schedule open from the 11th to 22nd and they all decided to team up on me and book it on the same day :D. i hope i get multiple internship offers. god I'm so nervous

i will try to update soon. (by soon i mean in a couple of months)

where do i start

hello. it's july 22, 2023. i'm going to be a senior in high school in literally a month. i'm so stressed about college and the whole application process. maybe it's because i've been on reddit r/chanceme and r/applyingtocollege too much, but i feel like i'm no where close to good enough. i don't want to be rejected everywhere - that's my worst fear. i wish i had done more in freshman and sophomore year. i feel so worthless at the moment. every applicant i see on reddit as some sort of impressive research with t10 unis, won gold in USACO, etc. and i'm here with barely any awards and impressive extracurriculars. CS is such a competitive major too, so all the acceptance rates of any college is really divided by 3 if ur a CS major. i don't want to apply to another major though; i genuinely like CS. but i feel so worthless and uncompetitive compared to other applicants that i'm seeing. i have so many things to do, but i don't know where to get started. first, i have to worry about my gwc program and finish as much as i can as well as my dual enrollment classes (intro to administrative justice, intro to sociology). i also have my final for living earth on monday, but to be honest i'm not too concerned about that. i also have kwk coming up in a couple of weeks which will occupy most of my day. i have to finish my commonapp essay which is honestly not looking too bad so far (i'm still on my first draft) and worry about all the supplementals i have to write. i also have to write my UC PIQs. i have to study for the sat and score at least a 1500 or i'm screwed. i have to worry about my 5 ap classes in the fall and possibly intro to stats at ivc. i have to worry about the standout search program as well as my internship. and i'm planning to build some sort of model that uses web scraping and machine learning to detect products on alibaba that steals designs from companies (this is a stretch though i don't think it's gonna happen). i'm also planning to learn as much cs as i can to win some hackathons since my awards list is literally just ap scholar w/ honors. i want to get another internship too, i feel like 1 isn't enough. again, i just feel so uncompetitive compared to my applicant pool and i don't think i'm even going to get accepted to any one of the schools i apply to. my worst fear at the moment is going to community college. i feel like it gets looked down so much and i don't want to look like a failure. i'm going to ED to cornell bc it's the best ivy for CS, has amazing connections being that it has a campus in NYC and is a close drive to many populated cities, and the campus is beautiful, at least from what i heard. god i really do hope i get into a good school. time is flying by so fast.

jan 2, 2023

it's 2023! and it's also been over a year since i wrote on here. i can't believe time passed so fast between then. i am very proud to announce to my 2021 self that i now have friends :'). i honestly forgot what it felt like to have friends from 2020 - early 2022. i was simply talking to one person or none at all everyday. i mean i still don't have a lot of friends at school but it's nice to know that i have people to talk to now. and this really puts into perspective how lonely i was in 10th grade. i literally had 0 friends. would cry myself to sleep very often. glad that's over

i wanna go back to nyc... i really miss seeing all my friends and family as well as the atmosphere of the city

i also basically quit tiktok im basically only on instagram reels now haha never thought that would happen

for 2023 i plan to go to the gym and get in shape. i also want to get into a good college. im gonna start exploring the computer science field and try to get as much done as possible before college application szn

life rn is kind of confusing honestly i don't really know if im happy, sad, satisfied, unsatisfied, etc

im also kinda mad how im stuck at 5'5 i really wanna be taller (i promise im not a pick me i genuinely wanna be taller). i guess its not bad tho cuz it's taller than average for a woman? bro if ur a male and under 5'9 dont call me short ur literally below average it doesnt matter if im shorter than u ur still short for a male cuz i would be taller than u if i was a male and u would be shorter than me if u were a female

im prolly gonna read back on this and ask myself why im so concerned about height

my fav artist is grentperez (just wanted to put this here)

ok i think thats all im gonna write for now; see u next time 😈 (whether that be next year or in a couple months idrk)

it's been a while

ok so last time when i said it was going to be a year since i typed on here again i guess it was true. i'm 15 now. so old right? well not really in my eyes. i think 15 is semi-mature, not quite there yet though. i think 16 is when people take you seriously for your age. anyways, i just moved to irvine, california. i don't know how i feel about it. it's pretty chill here but it doesn't have the same feeling as nyc. i can't just go out and walk to dunkin donuts in 10 mins or see my friend that lives 10 mins away as well. the school here is pretty chill here too i guess. i like how there are breaks implemented every 1-2 classes. i don't have any friends yet though and this is the 3rd week of school. i don't even know how to make friends like i try to speak louder bc i know that i'm a quiet speaker but i think i just come off as aggressive when i do that :/.  i guess i don't really need friends at my school since it's mainly just lunch and breaks where you interact and it's not like nyc where you look lonely at the lunch table so that's a plus. i'm really hoping that i make friends at clubs and i probably will since they share similar interests with me. i also want the school to close really badly because the homework is really stressing me out.

today i found out about Titan, a one of saturn's moons. it's the closest thing in the solar system to earth, meaning that humans could actually live there. the only differences are that it's much colder and there are higher level of nitrogen. it has also been proven that life is possible there. i can't wait for the future to see what happens in the solar system.

i said i would do stock trading and stuff over the summer but i guess that wasn't true either

let's see when i'll write on here again maybe in a couple of weeks or even a year who knows lmao

bye

tie toll

Okay. I'm officially enrolled in high school now, probably some of the most important years of my life. It's only the 3rd day but I'm pretty sure it's going to get much more harder from here.

My Earth Science teacher's first impression kind of disappointed me. A girl on the Zoom call was lagging (her mic was lagging) and he thought that she was playing a trumpet. LOLLL. He said "Miss, if you don't stop playing that instrument I'm going to have to kick you out.", and the other students were like "Mr. Lall I think her mic is lagging.". He just denied it and actually thought she was playing a trumpet. Smh.

Also, today's September 18th. It's been 4 months since my birthday. I'm now 14 and 1/3 years old. Yay.

There's not much to update on since it's only been one month since I blogged on here, so I'm going to end it here. Maybe I'll write on here in a month or two or maybe even in a year. Who knows.

Quarantine.

Heyyyy, I'm back. I'm 14 now...it's been about a year since I've blogged on here.

12 year old me really thought that 13 was old and such a big number while I'm 14 over here and I still think that I'm considered a baby to adults. To be frank, I think that 16-17 is when people start to think that you're actually getting older. The point where people don't think you're a baby anymore.

My family is talking about moving to California since the weather and schools are amazing there. It's also because I didn't get into a good high school.  I really regret my decisions in 6th grade, I had the chance to be a whole new person and ace middle school, but I blew it. I would say that I'm above average in terms of intelligence (NOT STREET SMARTS LOL) because I don't put in a ton of effort into my school work very often but I'm still one of the top students in my class, while some students work a lot harder than me and aren't top students of the class, which I feel is pretty unfair to be honest. I'm blessed to be somewhat naturally smart.

So yeah, about high school..I got into Aviation High School at first which is actually pretty good but then I switched to Thomas A Edison High School because Avi is far and the percentage of girls at that school is 20%. I regret my decision once again because I don't even need to travel to school since we're in quarantine now. Sigh.

I've noticed over these past years that I'm starting to have really deep thoughts. I'm starting to think more about my future and the bigger picture of life. I don't think I'm going to be as happy as I am now in 10 years because I'm probably going to have a lot more stress put on me than I do now because of adult responsibilities.

We're in quarantine now, and it's been really boring. But, I'm also glad that I don't have to go to school in person. I think that I learn better at home :). I got a 99 in math while learning in quarantine.

Speaking about quarantine, I've been watching a lot of Running Man lately. I don't think I'll ever stop watching it (unless something bad happens to the show). It's been keeping me entertained and sane during these times. My favorite members are Jeon So Min and Lee Kwang Soo. I don't understand why people hate So Min. It kind of hurts me to see her get so much hate. The more and more I find out about her, the more I look up to her. She can dance, write lyrics, write books, act, entertain, and so much more. She's my inspiration :)

Since I've been watching a lot of Running Man, I've been trying to learn Korean. It's really hard since I can't find any good free apps to learn from, so I've been using Duolingo. I think I've learned a decent amount of Korean so far because I can read some Korean comments on YT. I hope I can be able to learn more.

That's all I have to say for now. I'll probably write here again soon, but it's not guaranteed. I bet I'll be 16 when I come back lol

Saturday, April 20, 2019

Almost 13.

I know nobody sees these blogs, but I think it's important for me to write in these type of things to look back at how badly I used to write lol.

So I'm in 7th grade now, and it's not as hard as I thought it was. Every single year I say the next year is going to be the hardest of them all, but it just turns out easy peasy. I'm really nervous for 8th grade. It's the year I'm graduating and the last year I'm going to see my friends Matthew Colopelnic and some others. I'm still deciding which high school I want to get into. I hope that my future self gets into a good school.

Anyways, I'm almost 13 and really excited. It's on a Saturday and I have chinese school which I hope I skip lol. 13 is a big number for me because I'm finally going to become a teenager.

Sometimes I feel like life is a trick, not only because you die at the end but sometimes there's really no point if you think about it. I know I sound depressed but I'm not. I just feel like it's hard to get where you want to be in life, and you really have to work hard.

I'm scared of my parents passing away later on in life. That's one of my deepest fears right now. I cry myself to sleep sometimes having that thought in my head, and it's just really depressing to think about, so I'm trying to stay away from that.

Also, I have this instagram called '@cubeogram' but I'm not sure if I should delete it or not. There's no point in having it. It's just a little on the side fun thing to have.

Sometimes I feel like parents these days don't get kids. They always say how they didn't have electronics back then, but today there's electronics everywhere. The next generation of kids are lucky because I can't say that I didn't have electronics. I wish I was in the next generation. I really do. It's not really my fault that there's electronics everywhere in this house.

These are just thoughts jumbled in my head right now and I wanted to release them. See ya soon.

Hi...it’s been awhile. I’m going to 7th grade in less than a week, I’m nervous. Oh by the way, I’m 12 years old. Ella is going to 4th grade and is 8 years old, turning 9 in November. Right mow I’m on my Japan and South Korea vacay, it’s really fun. The food is really good. There was also a lot of walking, too. I’m currently in Seoul, Korea. It’s my first FULL day here!!

Hello, we meet again!

Today is January 30th, 2017. It is a new year, and I haven't blogged in so long! I am 10 years old and I still love to blog. I LOVE school now, and I can solve a 3x3 rubik's cube also followed by a 2x2 rubik's cube. The rubik's cube is so addicting. So many possibilities!

Right now, I am in my room, 10:00 PM. (lol that's pretty late) and lately daddy loves to play Madden Mobile. I guess that's pretty addicting for him since he likes sports.

On the other hand, I absolutely LOVE Roblox. Ever since I got Minecraft taken away from me and Ella, I loved Roblox. I thought more too. I realized I was abusing Minecraft, but it was so fun at the same time. :C

I have my very own YouTube channel now. I never thought I would have made one, but here I am now, with 52 subscribers. My channel is called Audrey - RBLX & More! (RBLX = Roblox, obviously, because I love Roblox)

This is just a little bit of what is happening right now in my life, the beginning of 2017. I plan to make more blogs later in the years and this following year. :D

See you in the next blog!

Ice Skating Experience!

Today is 12/19/15. It was an AMAZING day. I have not been doing blogs often because of school and homework. :(  However, today was my first time ice skating! I did really good for the first time. At first I was like OMG and holding onto the edge of the arena. Next, I let go and followed the instructions Peppa Pig gave me when she did ice skating. (Baby show. Sorry) But it worked. Push, push and glide. I kept practicing for about 1 hour and went pretty fast! Except I fell down a couple of times. ;)

Ella was ALL over the place. She thought ice skating was so easy. "Mommy you push, push and glide. I learned that from Peppa Pig" Ella said to mommy. She was so scared on the ice. If mommy and daddy lets go of Ella's hand she just falls on the slippery ice.

So this was my AMAZING day. Right now it is 9:05 PM. 12/19/15. BYE!!!!!!!!!!

Ella's Birthday

I know, it's been a long time until i didn't write a blog. I'm still 9 years old though. Ella is 6 now. Her birthday was November 5, same as my teacher Ms.M. I'm in 4th grade and Ella is in 1st grade. I got bad grades and Ella got good grades just because I homeschooled her on the computer and nobody did that. I think my next report card will be much better. It's 2:12 now and it's veteran's day so if I was at school, I wouldn't have been writing this blog right now. We have a disco light that came yesterday and opened some glow sticks so of course Ella was went berserk last night and she is still playing with the disco light and glow sticks today.

I have an addiction to Minecraft. I know some people think it's dumb, but I have reasons why it is the BEST GAME EVER. Ok, here we go. 1. On my scholastic news that my teacher gave the whole class to read for homework gave us reasons why Minecraft is educational. Teachers like it for geography. Children can discover new blocks compared to the real world. 2. This game is amazing. It's like you are in another world fighting mods. Pigs, sheep, cows, wolfs, and horses are mods too except they are animals. Zombies, skeletons, creepers, and slimes are monsters. THAT IS WHY MINECRAFT IS THE BEST GAME EVER. NO OTHER BEST GAME IN THE UNIVERSE I'M TELLING YOU GUYS NOW!!! :) bye bye.

My Jack and The Beanstalk Play...

Today was my Jack and The Beanstalk Play. Classes 3-223 and 3-228 were performing it. I'm in class 3-223.

I was in the chorus. I lipped sang because I didn't want anybody to hear me. So I only did the gestures and the hand movements. I was not that nervous. (But I really didn't like to sing, it was so embarassing!)

Today was an exciting day.

My birthday!

Today was my birthday. It was a great day. At the end of the day, it was bad.

Today it was a school day.(Boring) However, it was pretty fun. At recess, me and my friends played red light green light go. I played with my friends Giya, Bisma, and Serenity. Bisma got hurt because someone ran into her. Her face was bleeding and it was red. So she went to the nurse and then home. I just told my friends about my birthday (nobody else) because if I tell anyone else, they are going to tell the teacher and the whole class its going to sing happy birthday to me. I don't like that.

Tonight, my neighbors Arianna Amanda Antonio and Jennifer Antonio came over to celebrate my birthday at 7:00. We played hide and seek. I hid at ht secret spots and no one found me! However, they were really easy to find.

When my neighbors left, things started to get bad. Ella kept fighting with me and she broke the string of my balloon our neighbors gave us (Arianna and Jennifer). Ella was being stubborn that she didn't want to shower and go to sleep. However, we managed a way to get her to go to sleep. Furthermore, the rest of the day was exciting and fun.

Bad Day and Good Day

I had a bad and good day today... let me tell you about it

The good news is: The ONLY thing I did in class today was MATH,MATH,MATH. Even during science because my science teacher let my teacher (Mrs.Icart) (First name is Rachel) do math during the science period! Oh, how I miss the experiments. Maybe Mrs.Icart and the science teacher (Mrs.Semenqwitz) wanted my class to do really well on my math state test tomorrow (It's true). I did learn some things today about math the first lesson was pretty easy. I was confused at first, but then I knew what to do and got the hang of it. The lesson was improper fractions. I LOVED this lesson. I will see my score when I get my math test score and my ELA (English language arts) score and I will hope I get a 65 or higher!

The bad news: When I lined up in the hallway at school for Mr.Reverir, someone gave me an attitude and said "look at that girl" I gave a mad face at him. Today at lunch at school, my friend Giya slapped me on the face. Hard. I didn't like it.

My First Post!

My life is an experience.

On 4/3/15, I had my tonsils removed because I had tonsil stones. I had to breathe through this mask and it made me fall asleep. Then, I slowly woke up and I had to stay at the doctor's for 2 more hours just to be checked! I took steroids for 2 days to help me and then I just went back to medicine. For the past 3 days, it was major pain for me. Today must be the last day because today is the 10th day of pain for me! My mommy had her tonsils removed too when she was 12 or 13.

I am in 3rd grade now. Today I didn't go to school because of the pain. It's hard for me in the mornings however, I'm just fine at afternoon and evening! Only my sister (Ella Morgan Ng) went to school today. When we picked her up from the bus today, guess what she said. "I really missed Audrey today." I heard it and I really missed her too. So quiet without her at home!

Tomorrow is my ELA (English language arts) state test! I hope I pass the ELA state test to go to 4th grade! Let's see how I do...
